I’m a new loyal customer of Revlon ColorSilk!
As someone who has used a different but extremely popular brand of hair color for nearly three decades I wanted to write this review in case it helps anyone else on the fence about trying something new and far less expensive. I am half-Asian with thinning hair (thank you menopause) that is increasingly becoming more gray and, because my natural hair color is very dark (almost black) my roots begin to make a dreadful appearance every two weeks or so – to the point where I hated leaving the house the end of week 2 because I was so self-conscious about my appearance. I have tried countless root touchup methods but none of them work as well as just fully covering the roots with permanent color. My dilemma is that too much coloring isn’t necessarily a good thing plus it does get expensive (although not as expensive as frequent visits to the salon would be). I decided to just go ahead and give Revlon ColorSilk a try and ladies: I’m so glad I did! The color is perfect, my hair is silky soft and the price is fabulous.The Pros:Beautiful colorEasy applicationGorgeous resultsThe Cons:Doesn’t come with a tube of conditioner – only a tiny tear packet for one-time useDoesn’t come with a comb-style applicatorEither way, the cons are not enough to deter me from buying another 3-box package of this again. The results coupled with the cost savings are worth it to me!

I like the easiness of using this. It doesn’t smell horrible like others and it actually covers my greys. It covers them for about three weeks which is good for a box dye. I do like that it gives you the conditioning at the end. Doesn’t break my hair like some dyes and the brown is a nice shade. It does turn it a brown/red which i dont mind.

Covers greys so well!
I’m in my mid-30s and have finally gotten to the point where I can’t use my tweezers to pluck out all the greys, so I was looking for a hair dye that is gentle and wouldn’t make the rest of my hair fall out. I tried this because it’s ammonia free, a great price, and had good reviews. Application was simple and there was no scalp burning – a good sign. I used the included conditioner and I’d buy a bottle of that if I could. It made my hair so soft! I think the dye results look very natural and the grey cover was excellent.

Slightly drying, solid gray coverage
This hair color offers complete gray coverage in an ammonia-free formula. It’s a fantastic price, but I suppose you somewhat get what you pay for. Good color, but my hair is definitely drier than with other dyes (like Olia) and the tiny packet of conditioner only covers one wash. A nice, affordable option as long as you invest in good conditioner for color-treated hair.

The Cheapest and the Best Hair Dye
I’ve been using it for years and the color is great and even and it leaves my hair very shiny. The little packet of hair conditioner is an excellent bonus because it’s extremely concentrated and leaves my hair extremely soft. Great for traveling too. This hair dye is the cheapest product of its kind that I’ve found and I see no need to spend more- it works fine.

Gentle, Affordable, and Covers My Grays Beautifully
I love this stuff! I am 62 years old and have a moderate amount of gray hair–mostly at the roots. Before using Revlon ColorSilk, I was using a well-known, much higher-priced brand. Although I liked the way it colored my hair, I found clumps of hair in the tub after washing out the color. I now use Revlon ColorSilk exclusively. It’s 1/3 the price of the other brand, it’s less harsh on my hair, and the color looks as good and lasts as long as the other brand.

by far, my favorite brand color. I have been using this brand for a couple years now . I’ve been coloring my hair on my own longer than I can’t remember not to give my age away. This is easy to use and the color is nice.
