Natural looking, Medium Brown, scalp cover and gray roots cover
I’ve been using Color Wow to cover gray roots between salon visits as well as filling in sparseness where I could see my pink scalp peeking through at the top/front. It works great for me. I use the Medium Brown color and I think (I hope) it’s natural looking and undetectable.I wouldn’t say it gives complete coverage to solid gray hair but if you are like me, maybe a mix of some percentage of brown and gray hair, it does a pretty good job of covering. I try to avoid getting it into the part itself. I think it looks more natural to “paint” in strokes going away from the part to cover the hair, rather than wildly spreading it all over the part.Also, try to use a light hand when doing your hairline at your forehead. You don’t want a sharp, obvious, unnatural line of demarcation. If you use too much you can wipe away and soften/blur the line with a tissue. A little goes a long way. Don’t feel like you need to keep reapplying it to the brush. Use sparingly.It lasts all day, even multiple days if you aren’t washing your hair. It may rub off on your pillow case depending on how much you use and how you sleep (stomach, side or back). I really don’t notice it on my pillow case except for once in a while, so I can’t say it never happens. One compact lasts a long time for me, like a 2-3 years. It just depends how much and how often you use. This is amazing. The color works well on my auburn hair since I didn’t want the auburn/red option and the coverage is great. It covers gray as well as thinning areas. I highly recommend.

Dark Brown: Buyers Beware
After reading so many great reviews, and seeing before/after pics, I decided to give this product a try. Although the price was steep (for eyeshadow sized powder), I figured if it truly works, it’ll be worth it. Plus, I needed quick coverage to take some photos. I have long dark brown hair & at the time my grays, which are more silvery/white, needed coverage of about an inch.WELL, I cannot begin to express how LONG (hrs) it took and how much I had to “blot” onto the same spot to “cover the gray” and just at the top where my roots were exposed from parted line!The “positive”: the powder eventually “covered” but that was after applying so much over and over to the same spots. Although, it never truly got to the “dark brown” … but it was basically a shade lighter so it kind of blended. Maybe it would’ve looked dark brown on someone with darker “pepper” grays vs lighter “salt” grays. 🤷🏻‍♀️NEGATIVES: you cannot touch your hair afterwards to fix, scratch, and definitely not to run fingers through (beware of a breeze)!! The loose powder on scalp transfers onto your fingers/hands (my fingers looked like I was prepping to be finger printed lol) and it also causes loose powder on scalp to find its way to your face! Trying to remove black powder falling on face after applying make-up and minutes before my photos…nightmare!! 👎 And I didn’t even apply my makeup until after I applied WOW to my roots just in case. Unfortunately, I only used this product once but it was too late for me to return it, so it was money wasted. That said, I figured I’d write my first ever review to hopefully save someone else time and money.

Good color but not ideal for broader coverage and does fleck off onto skin.
I heard great things about this powder and thought I would try it. The color and spot coverage are good but I prefer the Sevich hair powder with the round sponge for easier and targeted application. The two different sized brush ends are nice but when touching up around the hairline I find this one doesn’t stay as well and sometimes flecks off onto my forehead throughout the day. I have started to use hairspray afterwards which seems to help somewhat.

Parfait comme base avant une poudre brun fonce pour une couvrance quasi totale. Parfait sur des racines jusqu’a 1 cm. Tient effectivement jusqu’au shampoing suivant mais marque les doigts si on se gratte la tete, et marque les vetements quand on les enfile par la tete, deposer un mouchoir en papier sur le haut du crane avant d’enfiler pull et tshirt clair pour eviter les traces, qui partent toutefois au lavage. Dure plusieurs mois.

This product is very good and have used it for years. I use dark brown and it is dark brown and covers grey hair very well. Even though I use the applicator provided to touch up roots on larger areas, you can easily use a smaller thinner brush tool for your temples and even your eyebrows. It works really well for eyebrows with no smudging, using it lightly and to fill unless you want a thicker heavier look, the choice is yours. Easy to remove and reapply if you go wrong too. Will stay on until washed off.
