The Best Hold!
For years I have searched for a replacement for Redken straight 05, without success. Until THIS. This Suave sculpting gel is even better, and the price is right! It’s easy to apply, does not feel sticky or heavy, and leaves no residue on styling tools. Best of all, it holds in humidity. If I could give it a “10” out of 5, I would; it’s just that good. So happy to find this, recommended by another previous user of the discontinued Redken product. Even if that was available again, I would choose to use this Suave product instead.

Not bad but I think it’s best for straight hair
I don’t think this is meant for African American hair. I have natural hair and it wouldn’t keep my edges down but when I used it call my sister hair that’s straight it worked great on her.

Excellent Setting Gel
I love Suave hair products because of the quality and reasonable price, and this gel is no exception. I have short, medium fine, elderly hair, and the setting ability of this Suave gel is the best. My technique: I spread a quarter-sized blob of gel over dry hair. Then I dip self-holding curlers in warm water, shaking off the excess, providing the right moisture to roll the hair and dry in the shortest time. My hair went from straight and limp to curly and twice its volume in about two hours (in a dry climate). It worked so well, I plan to start curling my hair again.

Great for fine hair
I use this product on my hair to give it a little more body. I put a small amount after washing my hair and before I style it. It helps hold my fine hair. It does not make my hair stiff, just gives it more body. Love this product.

Really good gel
I wear my long hair up most of the time. I have lots of little wisps that look sloppy so I use hair gel to tame them. I really like this gel because it holds great but it is not super thick or sticky.

Not Alcohol-free, and contains Glycol
This is a really great gel, but not for my hair. The gel works excellent. However, I noticed over time strands of my hair began to snap (here and there) mid-shaft. This is because the ingredients contain Alcohol and glycol, which are too drying for my hair.

My Favorite Hair Gel!
This is becoming harder to find in stores and luckily Amazon has it for a great price! This hair gel is great for controlling fly aways and I love that it isn’t super sticky. Just be careful not to coat it too thick or you can get white specs in your hair when it dries. Your hair is still flexible when using.
