Great Curling Iron
After 20 years, I had to break down and get a new 1.5 inch iron. This one is great. I love the smaller size. It is lighter in weight and less awkward to use. It heats up nicely and holds the soft curl I am trying to create. The curl will hold good through the day and even into the next. It’s a great quality, especially for the money.

Affordable and gets the job done
I don’t know what it is about my hair, but I have $150 curling wands and curling irons and they are titanium and my hair will fall out of the curl immediately. It is these cheap Conair curling irons that my hair will hold the curl for days without any hairspray. I turned this on to a medium heat and I have very fine hair so I have course use heat protection and I got beautiful smooth curls that lasted days without hairspray. I love that this product does have an auto shut off so if you’re busy and you forget to shut it off you are not going to burn your bathroom down. This curled my hair beautifully without any burning to my hair either, the condition of my hair remains the same. Very lightweight but the barrel is short so if you have long hair this would be challenging for you. I think any hair longer than shoulder length and you need a longer barrel than this.

Beautiful Curls, frustrating Button Placement
Overall, this is a great curler. It tamed my frizzy, curly, kinky hair into soft, bouncy curls and made styling feel almost effortless. However, the heat-adjustment buttons are extremely sensitive and positioned right where my hand naturally rests while curling. I kept pressing them by accident, which changed the temperature mid-style, and at one point caused me to overheat a small section of hair. Fantastic results, but the button placement definitely needs improvement.

I exchanged the larger size for this small curling iron. Used it today for the first time. It heated quickly, did a good job curling my fine, bone straight hair. A very reasonable price for a good working tool.

Not great for hair that doesn’t like to hold a curl
I have waist length, slippery, fine, straight hair that does not like to hold a curl. I generally use a 1.5″ curling WAND, but I really wanted loose waves and I found the wand (that tapers down to a smaller barrel) made the waves a bit too tight. So I thought this would be perfect since it doesn’t taper and would probably make the perfect loose wave! I tried medium heat the first time, then high heat the next time, then max heat the 3rd time. Max heat definitely did the BEST, but still after letting my hair cool for 30 min then finger combing, my hair was completely straight basically. Photo attached of right after curling, vs 30 min later.What I *did* like is that it definitely lessened my frizz and my hair was nice and smooth. The little attached stand does a great job of keeping the hot iron elevated and from burning the countertop underneath it. The iron heated up quickly and evenly and seemed to be good quality…. but the end result is just too straight for me. Plus, after using the wand for so long I wasn’t used to having the screws where the clamp is and I kept getting the screws caught on my hair as I was curling. That’s my own user error though I’m sure…. Maybe if you have hair that holds a curl OR you’re just looking to smooth your hair without making it quite as straight as a straightening iron, then this would be a good option. Otherwise, if you have slippery, fine, straight hair that you want to curl, you’ll probably want to look into a wand instead. Hope this helps!

Just as good as all the $$$ curling irons!
Everyone goes crazy for really $$$ hair styling tools these days….but Conair’s ceramic line is amazing to me! I have fine, very straight hair and this not only heats up super quickly, but my hair doesn’t get caught in it….it has a full range of heat levels to dial up for soft curls or more curly curls. I have several barrel sizes in this same line and LOVE them all. I don’t think I’ll ever pay $100 for a curling iron, as long as Conair is around. Great value for the price or even 3x the price.

fantastic for the price 1 ½ barrel
I have straight hair thats below my shoulders and sometimes I just want it to be slightly waivy. I don’t want it enough to need a curler every day. This one is easy to use. Holds well, my hair is smooth.The one issue I have is that it shuts off when I’m rotating the hair around due to where the position is. But thats okay in relation to everything else.

I had originally bought the 1 1/2″ wand of the same brand but it didn’t work well for my just above the shoulder length hair, it barely made any curls. I exchanged it for this one and it works much better. I’m sure it would work even better on a bit longer hair but this one gives me large curls at the ends.This is my first curling wand and II was looking for something inexpensive since I’m a beginner and wasn’t sure if it would work well on my hair. I have fine hair so I don’t need a lot of heat and it does the job well, I set it to about medium temperature and hold it for 10 seconds. Good wand for beginners at least.

So I got this way back in 2020 when I desperately needed a new curling iron and the supplier I got my usual brand from was sold out. I’m a professional stylist and I’m not a brand snob, I’m cheap and don’t like spending a lot of money on something when I can find something for less that does the same thing and while I got this without a lot of expectations, I can say I was VERY impressed with the quality and how well it works. I’ve been using it almost every day, multiple times a day, for over 4 years now and it’s still working great! My clients love the beachy waves I give them with this iron, but it also makes really nice curls as well. My only complaint is how short the cord is, I have to turn my chair quite a bit to get all sides of my client’s head but it’s a small inconvenience. I would absolutely buy another one of these when the one I have finally conks out!
