Gets the built-up product out without drying – clean scent
Awesome shampoo to get rid of buildup from products. I use a lot of gel, and hairspray,even though the hairspray is not Curly Girl Method (CGM) approved. This shampoo is CGM approved and gets the product out without drying my moisture-seeking wavy/curly hair. While my favorite scents are fruity, like coconut and mango, this one is not, but has a very clean scent. The point tip applicator is great for getting at the scalp first. The shampoo is very liquidy but turns into a nice foamy lather.I only use it about 2 times a month, in between regular shampoos.

Perfect For Microlocs/Sisterlocks
I gave 5 stars for moisture and softness because it IS THE PERFECT AMOUNT of EACH FOR my MICROLOCS! I chose the product specifically for my microlocs after seeing it highly recommended and demonstrated by several influencers on YouTube. A LITTLE goes a long way!! One bottle lasted 2.5 months doing 2 shampoos weekly!!! The “water” consistency distributes fast and easy throughout my locs. It lathers really well but rinses out surprisingly well too. Wash Day Delight (Aloe) is now my weekly shampoo I’ve used exclusively for 4 months. I also LOVE the super fresh scent that leaves a light fresh “whiff” 1-2 days after shampoo.

Micellar Shampoo And Gel Conditioner, Game changer!
I love this stuff, it can be initially applied with no added water because it is a micellar water shampoo it lathers all on it’s own. Of course adding water is ideal, but not entirely necessary. Can be used standing up or even sitting in a chair! It’s not messy or runny at all and doesn’t drip. My daughter uses it as she’s learning to wash her own hair in the shower so it’s great for kids learning independence to use on their own. It’s way different and less messy than traditional shampoo. It does seem to have clarifying properties, so it’s not as moisturizing, but after using the Wash Day Delight conditioner which is a gel, my hair was moisturized with good slip. A very good leave in conditioner was needed afterward to maintain maximum moisture and I seal with oil. I love this set and I love the smell! Makes a great addition to your child’s personal care items because they aren’t creamy and drippy so the chances of shampoo and conditioner getting in their eyes is no worry at all. I will purchase again!

Please read before buying this product
I received this product and washed my hair on Wednesday. Today is the Friday after and I just washed my hair again due to it being so dry that I think my locs might start to snap. I should’ve read more reviews before purchasing, but purchased because I was eager to try a Carols daughter product (first time buyer). Mind you I’ve never had an allergic reaction to anything and am a healthy person. After washing my hair twice in the shower and rinsing thoroughly my lips and frame of my face started tingling. Thank goodness I didn’t swell and have to go to the hospital like some reviewers. After my hair dried I saw that it had been stripped and was dryer than it’s ever been (almost 4 years sisterloc’d). I used my usual Hydro-Locs moisture mist to calm my scalp. And put some moisturing mouse on my damp locs (which did nothing at all). I broke down and washed my hair again 2 days later using what I have left of my Hydro-locs Shampoo, hopefully this will bring some life back to my hair. I guess I’ll have to continue using my usual products, which are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Carols daughter shampoo may be good for those that need a deep cleaning of locs due to buildup. I never had any as I stay on schedule for my hair services. This is a no for me, maybe 10 years down the line I’ll use if in need.

Loving this product to the core.It is great for washing your hair during an emergency if you have not oiled your hair in days and yet it feels dirty and greasy, you can always use this shampoo for a quick wash to strip away all the dirt yet let you natural oils not be stripped away

I didn’t like it initially, but I believe the instructions were the cause of my initial dissatisfaction.This shampoo is great if you know how to use salicylic acid. The mistake I was making was using too much, many times to get the result and lather. You don’t need to do that.Here’s how to properly use it: Open the twist cap just enough to feel the shampoo on your scalp. Quickly draw circles to apply it evenly. You don’t need much; you’ll immediately notice the fresh, zesty aroma. It’s actually my favourite part. Once you’re done, run your hand or fingers back and forth in circles or however you like to spread the application on your scalp to create lather. Once you feel you have some lather (don’t need a lot), stop and let it sit for 50-60 seconds or slightly longer. You can also spread the lather out to your hair. This is an important step. Salicylic acid requires time to work, so rinse it out after the recommended duration.If your hair still feels greasy, try a second application with minimal shampoo and a shorter waiting time, around 15-25 seconds. However, generally avoid a second application and use slightly more shampoo the first time. You’ll find the right balance with practice.I find that I only need to use one application of this shampoo once, according to your hair type and volume. The scalp feels clean and fresh, and it doesn’t dry out my hair. Even the gentlest shampoos have dried me out, and I have low porosity, baby-fine hair that’s very voluminous. This is the only shampoo I can use without getting dried out or flat-looking hair. The key is to use it sparingly and let the time do its thing.
